Dear Friend:
My name is Edward G. Mulka and I am a candidate running for State Representative, District 22, on the ballot for the Primary election on August 5th. Among my concerns as a 47-year resident of Taylor is a State budget of $42 billion, the loss of more than 390,000 manufacturing jobs, loss of residents with valuable skills to other more prosperous states and our loss of people to retirement. These areas of loss have contributed to a $1 billion loss of tax revenue to the State of Michigan. Add NAFTA to the mix, with some bad policies, and you have a situation that affects revenue sharing for cities. This presents a great challenge for our State.
A little about me:
- Successful commercial and residential landscape company 22 years
- Contractor for the Michigan Department of Transportation
- Participant/Donor to "Raise the Roof" program in Dearborn
- Member of many associations to educate myself & employees on environmental issues
- Employed by Ford Motor Company, Rouge Facility in Dearborn
- Work with Union Leadership in relation to employment at Ford
- Wife Susan, 2 daughters, 2 sons.
